FUNDER INVITATION LETTER

Postby VerdaFazlic » Thu Jun 01, 2017 2:54 pm

Dear Sir/Madam,
INVITATION TO JOIN AUTHENT-NET NETWORK

Food authenticity has been identified as one of the EU R&D priorities that needs to be addressed by enhancing transnational co-operation and producing research priorities and joint programmes of work among EU Member State funding organisations. The Authent-Net project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 696371, to challenge these issues.

Authent-Net is comprised of a core group of 19 participants from 10 Member States (MS), 1 NGO and one partner from the US, who are either National research funding bodies; experts in food authenticity, and/or experts in transnational funding mechanisms. The project aims to:

• Bring together relevant MS R&D budget holders to coordinate inter-disciplinary research effort and build a cohesive and sustainable network
• Undertake stocktaking of existing national research and assess against the international landscape
• Establish transnational mechanisms and instruments for collating and exchanging information on food authenticity research
• Develop a high level research and innovation strategy for transnational research and a rationale for a potential ERANET on food authenticity.

The two year project will have the following expected impacts: improved coordination and communication between relevant MS research budget holders; enhanced cognisance of existing national research; joint strategy for food fraud R&D; agreed priorities and capability to deliver transnational European research on food fraud.

I am writing, on behalf of the coordination and management team of the Authent-Net project, to formally invite you to be an associated partner of this Coordination and Support Action. As a partner of the extended Authent-Net network, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall objective of the project that is aimed to facilitate cooperation between European research funding bodies in the area of authentication of food products.

The project will be holding several workshops to enhance your knowledge of other member state funding organisations and their priorities. Travel and subsistence for your attendance of these events will be reimbursed by the project.

If you are interested in this project or have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
